Morgan State University Athletics

Willie Germany was a standout linebacker for the Morgan State Golden Bears, whose collegiate career led to an opportunity at the professional level. Germany was selected by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round of the NFL Draft, beginning a professional career that included stops with several NFL teams.

Germany also played cornerback for the Houston Oilers, showcasing his versatility in the secondary and extending his Morgan State legacy into the professional ranks. Morgan State records list Germany among the Golden Bears who went on to play in the NFL, including stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Houston Oilers, and New England Patriots.

Germany was inducted into the Morgan State University Varsity “M” Club Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004 as part of a distinguished class of former Morgan State coaches and athletes.
