Hall of Fame
Maria Parson was a distinguished track and field standout at Morgan State University and a three-time AIAW All-American. She achieved international recognition as one of the world’s leading sprinters, earning a ranking of 10th in the world in the 55-meter dash.
Parson was also honored with Morgan State’s Unsung Hero Award in 1977, recognizing her contributions and accomplishments as a student-athlete.
In 1980, Parson reached another milestone when she set an American collegiate record in the 300-meter run, further establishing her place among Morgan State’s elite track and field performers.
Parson was inducted into the Morgan State University Varsity “M” Club Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004 as part of a distinguished class of former Morgan State coaches and athletes.
