Paulette Clagon, the twin sister of Paula Clagon-Smith, was an integral part of Morgan State University’s track resurgence in the late 1970’s, especially as a member of the 4x400m relay team. She helped set the AIAW record in the 4x400m relay at the University of Maryland Invitational Track Meet. Paulette helped set an American record in the 4x400m relay (3:45:1) at the Princeton Indoor Relays and posted a time of 55:00 in the 400m dash at the University of Maryland Invitational.

In 1977, Paulette was a member of the AIAW 4x400m Relay Championship and posted a 3:44:2 at the University of Maryland Invitational in 1978. In 1979, her 4x400 relay team was nationally ranked in the Top 10. Her team tied a World Record and broke an American Record at the Princeton Relays with a time of 3:43:2, placed 1st at the Penn Relays (3:42:6), and won the AIWA Championship by setting an AIWA record with a time of 3:37:3. Paulette was also nationally ranked Top 10 in the quarter-mile third in the 600-yard run

Paulette is currently living in Inglewood, California, and teaching Language Arts at St. Emydius Catholic School in Lynwood, California. In 1004, she was honored as the 2004 Teacher of the Year (school wide) and has worked as vice principal, athletic director and religious coordinator at St. Emydius Catholic School. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Paulette is an active member of the Morgan State University Los Angeles Alumni chapter and a Catholic Youth Organization Board member.
Currently resides in Torrance, California.Â
