Richard “Dick” Brown was a member of Morgan State University’s historic 1967 CIAA Championship Golf Team, which captured the first CIAA golf championship in Morgan State history. Brown competed alongside teammates Rodney “Binx” Watts, Tim McCready, Allen “Frog” Wilson, and John Bullock under coach Dr. Julius Taylor.

Brown was later recognized for his contribution to Morgan State’s athletic legacy when he was inducted into the Morgan State University Varsity “M” Club Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004 as a member of the 1967 championship team.
