Nathaniel Frazier was one of the most successful coaches in Morgan State University basketball history, serving as head coach during a golden era for the Bears. Frazier guided Morgan State to the 1974 NCAA College Division National Championship, leading the Bears to a 28-5 record and establishing the program as the nation’s premier small-college basketball team.

Frazier’s accomplishments earned him national and conference recognition in 1974, when he was named both  MEAC Coach of the Year and  Associated Press National Coach of the Year. During his Morgan State coaching career, Frazier compiled a 123-50 record from 1972-77, along with an additional 43-71 record from 1986-89. He remained a significant figure in Morgan State basketball and was recognized as the school’s all-time winningest basketball coach at the time of his Hall of Fame induction.

Frazier was inducted into the Morgan State University Varsity “M” Club Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004 as part of a distinguished class of former coaches and athletes.
