Lawson to Represent Morgan State in 5th Annual HBCU All-Star Game

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 17, 2026) – Senior guard Rob Lawson of Morgan State University has been selected to participate in the fifth annual HBCU All-Star Game, recognizing his standout performance during the 2025-26 season.

Lawson emerged as one of the top guards in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, consistently demonstrating his scoring ability and leadership while guiding the Bears throughout the season. His selection to the national showcase highlights his impact and reputation as one of the conference's premier backcourt players.

The opportunity will allow Lawson to showcase his talents on a national stage while competing alongside some of the best players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country.

Kevin Broadus, head coach at Morgan State University, praised Lawson's impact on the program.

"Rob has been the definition of consistency for us all season," Broadus said. "He's a competitor, a leader, and someone who represents Morgan State the right way on and off the floor. This is a well-earned honor, and we're excited for him to showcase his talent on a national stage."

Lawson averaged 12.8 points (No. 6 in the MEAC), 3.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.0 steals per game this season. He logged 32.8 minutes per contest while shooting 36 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free-throw line.

A consistent offensive presence for the Bears, Lawson scored in double figures in 20 games and topped the 20-point mark four times. His ability to take over games was highlighted by a season-high 24-point performance in a road victory over Howard University on January 24.

Lawson is also one of six student-athletes representing the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, joining Bryce Harris of Howard University, Anthony McComb III of Norfolk State University, Cameron Clark of South Carolina State University, Dionte Johnson of North Carolina Central University, and Zion Obanla of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.

The fifth annual HBCU All-Star Game will take place in Indianapolis during Final Four weekend, bringing together top talent from Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country.
