Bears Abroad: Former Morgan State Standouts Continue to Shine in Pro Basketball

BALTIMORE, Md. (July 6, 2026) -- Morgan State men's basketball continues to be well represented on the international stage, with several former Bears producing standout performances in professional leagues worldwide. From Europe to Australia and Canada, Morgan State alumni are making significant contributions to their respective clubs while showcasing the talent and development that have become hallmarks of the Bears program.

Former Morgan State standouts Troy Baxter Jr. and Stanley Davis Jr. continued making an impact on the international basketball scene with strong performances in Australia and Canada.

Troy Baxter Jr. | NBL1 North (Australia)
The 2021 All-MEAC First Team selection recorded eight points, three assists and two rebounds in 17 minutes for the Southern Districts Spartans in a 109-95 loss to the Northside Wizards (Phoenix). The Spartans, now 6-8 and sitting eighth in the NBL1 North standings, have just two regular-season games remaining as they battle for playoff positioning.

Despite the setback, Baxter has been a steady contributor since joining the Spartans, averaging 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists through seven appearances.

Stanley Davis Jr. | Canadian Elite Basketball League (Canada)
The former Bears guard continued his strong season by pouring in 21 points to help the Edmonton Stingers edge the Saskatchewan Rattlers, 105-103, for their third consecutive victory. Davis added three rebounds and one assist while shooting efficiently in 26 minutes as Edmonton improved to 6-7 on the season.

A member of Morgan State's 2020 squad, Davis has been one of the Stingers' most consistent performers this season, averaging 13.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals per game through nine contests, continuing to establish himself as one of the top guards in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
