Bears Abroad: Former Morgan State Standouts Continue to Shine in Pro Basketball

BALTIMORE, Md. (June 9, 2026) -- Morgan State men's basketball continues to be well represented on the international stage, with several former Bears producing standout performances in professional leagues worldwide. From Europe to Australia and Canada, Morgan State alumni are making significant contributions to their respective clubs while showcasing the talent and development that have become hallmarks of the Bears program.

This week, former standouts Malik Miller, Troy Baxter Jr., and Stanley Davis Jr. each delivered notable performances, continuing to build on their impressive overseas seasons and further enhancing the legacy of Morgan State basketball at the professional level.

Malik Miller

Malik Miller | Groningen (Netherlands)
Former Morgan State guard and 2023 graduate Malik Miller turned in another stellar performance for Groningen despite a narrow 79-77 loss to ZZ Leiden. The 6-foot-4 guard recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds while adding four steals, one assist, and playing 36 minutes. Miller's all-around effort earned him Eurobasket.com's Triple-Double Badge recognition. Now in his third professional season, he has emerged as one of the top players in the Dutch league, averaging 17.4 points per game (second in the league), 8.8 rebounds (second), 2.0 assists, and 1.6 steals (third) through five contests.

Troy Baxter Jr. | Al Shamal (Qatar)
Former Bears standout and 2021 All-MEAC First Team selection Troy Baxter Jr. continues his professional career in Australia with the Southern Districts Spartans. The 6-foot-9 forward scored 12 points and dished out three assists in 27 minutes during a road contest against the SC Phoenix. Baxter also added three rebounds in the matchup. Although the Spartans fell 106-84, Baxter has remained a steady contributor for the club. Through his first two appearances this season, Baxter is averaging 11.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

Stanley Davis Jr.

Stanley Davis Jr. | KK TFT Skopje (North Macedonia)
Former Morgan State guard and 2020 All-MEAC Third Team performer Stanley Davis Jr. helped lead the Edmonton Stingers to a 104-98 victory over the Surge in Canadian Elite Basketball League action. The 6-foot-5 guard finished with 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists in 25 minutes, continuing a strong start to the season. Davis has been one of Edmonton's most productive players, averaging 12.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists through two games. His recent performance against Calgary further showcased his versatility and leadership as he contributed across the board while helping guide the Stingers to victory.
