Bears Abroad: Former Morgan State Standouts Continue to Shine in Pro Basketball

BALTIMORE, Md. (May 29, 2026) -- Former Morgan State men's basketball players are making their presence felt across the global professional ranks, delivering standout performances while representing the Bears on international stages. From Qatar to Europe and South America, Morgan alumni continue to showcase their skill, consistency, and professionalism, serving as ambassadors of the program while competing at the highest levels of international basketball.

Malik Miller

Malik Miller | Groningen (Netherlands)
Former Morgan State guard Malik Miller (Class of 2023) continues to make an impact overseas, competing in the BNXT League with Donar Groningen in the Netherlands.
The 6-foot-4 guard showcased his talent as he led Groningen to a 97-89 victory over ZZ Leiden in the Dutch Basketball League last Tuesday. In a standout performance, Miller was named the MVP of the game after scoring an impressive 31 points, securing 8 rebounds, and providing 3 assists in just 33 minutes of play. Currently, Donar Groningen is placed in a strong position within the league standings, thanks in part to Miller's contributions. Individually, Miller has been having an outstanding season, consistently delivering impressive statistics. He's currently averaging 21.0 points per game (the second best in the league), along with 10.0 rebounds per game (also the second best in the league) and 2.7 assists per game in the three games he has played so far.

Stanley Davis Jr.

Stanley Davis Jr. | KK TFT Skopje (North Macedonia)
Former Morgan State standout Stanley Davis Jr. (Class of 2020) continues to shine professionally overseas, competing in North Macedonia with TFT in ABA League 2.
The 6-foot-5 guard, an All-MEAC Third Team selection during his collegiate career, recently helped KK TFT earn a thrilling victory against the third-ranked Pelister with a score of 116-112 in the North Macedonian Super League last Wednesday. Davis poured in 23 points, while also adding 3 rebounds and delivering 6 assists in 37 minutes of action. Despite Pelister's impressive 17-8 mark, KK TFT secured the win largely thanks to Davis' performance. This marked Davis' first season with the team, and he has already made a major impact, averaging 13.3 points, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in 27 appearances.

Lewis Djonkam | Targu Jiu (Romania)
Former Morgan State forward Lewis Djonkam (Class of 2023) continues to make an impact in his professional career overseas, currently competing in Romania with Târgu Jiu.
The 6-foot-9 big man turned in an impressive performance in his team's most recent outing, as he led Targu Jiu to a decisive 92-70 victory over Galati. Djonkam scored 14 points and had 4 rebounds in just 20 minutes of play. This year marked Djonkam's first season with the team, and he has made a significant impact, averaging 10.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game in 36 appearances.

Troy Baxter Jr.

Troy Baxter Jr. | Al Shamal (Quatar)
Former Morgan State men's basketball standout Troy Baxter Jr. (Class of 2021) continues his professional career overseas in Quatar. The 6-foot-9 power forward, who earned All-MEAC First Team honors during his standout collegiate career with the Bears, had a strong performance for the SD Spartans in a matchup against the Northside Wizards in the NBL1 North Conference. Although Southern Districts (4-4) came up short in a 101-92 road loss to the lower-ranked Wizards, Baxter recorded 10 points and 5 rebounds while providing a strong presence in the paint on both ends of the floor.
