Alfred Worrell Jr. and Elijah Davis Named to BOXTOROW All-American Team

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 18, 2026) – Morgan State men's basketball standouts Alfred Worrell Jr. and Elijah Davis have been named to the 2025-26 BOXTOROW Second Team All-America Team, the organization announced earlier this week.

The prestigious honor recognizes the duo's outstanding performances during the 2025-26 season and their key roles in leading the Bears throughout the year.

Worrell emerged as one of the most dynamic scorers in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), earning his first career All-America recognition. The Washington, D.C. native also garnered MEAC First Team honors after a standout campaign.

Worrell scored in double figures 23 times this season, including 13 games with 20 or more points. He finished the regular season ranked fourth in the MEAC in scoring (17.4 ppg), second in three-point field goal percentage (.357), and first in free throw percentage (.889).

One of Worrell's signature performances came at Norfolk State, where he erupted for 33 points and sealed a dramatic 79–78 victory with a clutch pull-up jumper in the closing moments. He closed his season with 18 points and three rebounds in 37 minutes during the Bears' overtime loss to Delaware State in the MEAC quarterfinals on March 11 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Davis proved to be the engine of the Bears' offense in his lone season at Morgan State, establishing himself as one of the premier playmakers in the MEAC. The Severn, Maryland native led the conference in assists and set the Morgan State single-season school record, averaging 6.0 per game (previous record: 5.5 by Chico Langston, 1992–93) while finishing the regular season with 153 assists.

Davis started all 26 games and averaged 13.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest while shooting 45 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free throw line. He also recorded 29 steals and four blocked shots.

He scored in double figures 20 times, including three 20-point performances, and posted four double-doubles in points and assists. One of his most notable performances came in an 82–68 victory over Delaware State at Hill Field House, when Davis recorded 15 points, a game-high 15 assists, and seven rebounds in 39 minutes. His 15 assists tied the Morgan State single-game record previously set by Kameron Hobbs against Virginia–Lynchburg in 2023.

The recognition further solidifies Worrell and Davis as two of the top players in HBCU basketball this season, underscoring their leadership and impact in guiding Morgan State through a competitive MEAC campaign.

Twelve schools are represented on this year's BOXTOROW All-America teams. BOXTOROW has administered the All-America teams since 2009.
