Bears Abroad: Former Morgan State Standouts Continue to Shine in Pro Basketball

BALTIMORE, Md. (Jan. 7, 2026) -- Former Morgan State men's basketball players are making their presence felt across the global professional ranks, delivering standout performances while representing the Bears on international stages. From Qatar to Europe and South America, Morgan alumni continue to showcase their skill, consistency, and professionalism, serving as ambassadors of the program while competing at the highest levels of international basketball.

Troy Baxter Jr.

Troy Baxter Jr. | Al Shamal (Qatar)
A 6-foot-9 power forward and 2021 Morgan State graduate, Troy Baxter Jr., remains a steady force for Al Shamal in the Qatari professional league. In a recent matchup, Baxter Jr. turned in a strong all-around performance with 18 points, five rebounds, and two blocks in 36 minutes, despite Al Shamal falling 100–73 to Al Gharafa.

The loss marked the team's third straight setback as Al Shamal (5–7) fights to remain in playoff contention with four regular-season games remaining. Individually, Baxter Jr. is putting together an outstanding season, averaging 15.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game over 12 contests while anchoring the frontcourt on both ends of the floor.

Malik Miller
Malik Miller | Groningen (Netherlands)
Malik Miller, a 6-foot-4 guard and 2023 Bears alum, is in the midst of his first professional season with Groningen in the Netherlands. In European North Basketball League action, Miller scored 11 points in 32 minutes during a narrow 106–104 road loss to league-leading MBC.

With Groningen holding a 4–3 record and just one regular-season game remaining, postseason positioning remains at stake. Miller has been a reliable contributor throughout the season, averaging 10.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in seven appearances.

Myles Douglas
Myles Douglas | Zubry Bialystok (Poland)
Despite a challenging season for Zubry Bialystok, Myles Douglas continues to stand out as one of the league's most productive scorers. The 6-foot-8 forward and 2022 Morgan State graduate poured in a game-high 27 points and added seven rebounds in a 76–70 road loss to sixth-ranked GKS in Tychy.

Douglas has been a consistent offensive threat since joining the club, averaging 18.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game across four contests, providing a bright spot for Bialystok as the season progresses.
