Will Thomas, a Business Administration major at Morgan State University, is more than just a standout athlete he's a dedicated student with ambitious career goals in investment. Recently surpassing Maurice Jennings on Morgan's all-time scoring list, Thomas has solidified his place in the university's basketball history.
His journey as a student-athlete has been defined by discipline, humility, and perseverance, qualities that have shaped his approach both on and off the court. Managing the demands of academics and athletics, he has developed a mindset rooted in hard work and mental toughness, proving that success requires more than just talent.
Beyond basketball, Thomas values the time he spends with his family, especially his mother, who has been a guiding force in his life. He credits his experiences at Morgan State for teaching him how to handle pressure, stay grounded, and remain focused on his future.

- What is your major, and why did you choose it? I chose to pursue a major in Business Administration because I want to enter the field of investment.
- What is the best time of year here at Morgan? The best time is the 'Day Party' season.
- Favorite Morgan memory? Being a member of the 1,000 Points Club.
- How do you feel about coming to college? Coming into college, I didn't know what to expect. I thought the transition would be easy, but it wasn't. I was just the little guy on the court at first.
- What are some things you have learned in your major classes? Finance has been one of the best classes I've taken so far.
- You are in your last year at Morgan. What legacy do you want to leave behind, and what has been the biggest learning experience for you? I want to make it to the top 20 or 15 of all-time scoring and be remembered as a winner.
- What was one of the biggest challenges of being on the basketball team? Conditioning has been one of the biggest challenges since I got here.
- What advice would you give to incoming students? -To incoming freshmen: stay focused on your studies and don't slack off, because once you fall behind, it's hard to catch up.

- Since you went to high school just down the road, did that impact your decision to come to college here? -Coming to Morgan felt like home, and that's what made me choose to stay close by.
- What's the most common mistake you see beginners make, and how can they correct it? The biggest mistake is coming in too cocky. The key is staying humble and putting in the work.
- How do you handle the pressure of important games? I don't feel pressure. I believe if you put in the work, the confidence will follow.
- What has been the toughest team you've faced this season? I don't consider any moment tough. To get through tough times, I just keep my head down and stay focused in the gym.
- With the MEAC tournament approaching, how are you and the team preparing? We're building wins and confidence while practicing and listening to our coaches.
- Do you have any pregame superstitions or rituals? I focus by getting plenty of sleep to keep my mind clear and lock in on the game.
- What are your plans after college? Do you want to continue playing basketball? I would like to head overseas to test my skills.
- How do you see basketball influencing your future career or life path? I've known since I was 5 or 6 years old that basketball would be a key part of my life and career.
- With a career-high of 1,065 points, you've surpassed Maurice Jennings (1974-78) for the No. 24 spot on Morgan's all-time scoring list. Are you aiming to climb even higher? Yes, I'm aiming to climb higher, and I'll go wherever God leads me.

- We often hear and see your mom during the games. What's your relationship like with her, and how do you manage to block out distractions when you're on the court? The coaches know who she is, but it's hard to block her out because she's my mom. However, once I'm between the lines, I focus and block everything else out.
- What is the best piece of advice you've ever received? "Never give up and keep pushing."
- Favorite professional sports team? Boston Celtics
- When you're not at practice, what could someone find you doing? Chilling at home and getting some sleep.
- Who do you model your game after? Austin Freeman.
- If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be? Nothing. I love who I am.
- Who is someone you admire the most? My mom, Allison.
- Most prized possession? I don't really have any material possessions that I prize over others.
- If you could have dinner with three people, who would they be? Kobe Bryant and Kodak Black.
- What were your first impressions when meeting Coach Broadus, and what's your relationship with him like? - When I first met Coach Broadus, I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it. But over time, he's become a father figure to me. I look up to him, and he's allowed me to play the way I do today.
