De'Torrion Ware Named to All-MEAC Team

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 4, 2022) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference announced all-conference selections on Friday and Morgan State men's basketball had one player who made the cut.
 
Hopkinsville, Kentucky native De'Torrion Ware was named to the All-MEAC Second Team for the second straight season. 
 
Ware is averaging 10.9 points (ranks No. 14 in the MEAC), 5.0 rebounds (No. 13) as a junior. He ranks among the league leaders in three-point field goals made with 47 (T-No. 4) and three-point field goals per game with 1.9 (No. 4).
 
Ware has played in 25 games and scored 20 or more points in four times this season. He scored double figures in 10 games, including a 27-point outing vs. St. Mary's College of Maryland (Nov. 9) and a 23-point and 11-rebound performance vs. Howard on Jan. 22.
 
Ware has recorded three double-double (points & rebounds) and was named twice as the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week (Jan. 28) after posting 23 points, 11 rebounds and four steals against Coppin State inside Hill Field House.
 
All awards, presented by TowneBank, were voted on by the conference's head men's basketball coaches and sports information directors.

The Bears completed the regular season with a 12-13 record (7-6 MEAC) and will be the No. 4 seed in next week's conference tournament. The defending champion Spartans of Norfolk State (21-6, 12-2) will be the No. 1 seed.

The 2021-22 regular-season champion, First Team honorees and other award winners, including Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, will be recognized in pre-game presentations prior to the honorees' first games in tournament play.
 
Tournament play begins Wednesday, March 9, and runs through Saturday, March 12, at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va.
