Morgan State Men's Basketball Standouts Carry the Blue & Orange Into the Pro Ranks

BALTIMORE, Md. (July 27, 2026) -- Former Morgan State men's basketball standouts continue to make their mark on the international professional basketball scene, delivering impressive performances while proudly representing the Bears around the globe. From Canada to The Basketball Tournament (TBT), Morgan alumni are showcasing the talent developed in Baltimore and continuing the program's tradition of success at the professional level.

Stanley Davis Jr. | Edmonton Stingers (Canada)
Former Morgan State standout Stanley Davis Jr. (Class of 2020) continues to excel with the Edmonton Stingers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).

The 6-foot-5 guard, who earned All-MEAC Third Team honors during his collegiate career, has become one of Edmonton's most consistent performers this season. In a recent 96-94 road loss to the Mamba, Davis Jr. paced the Stingers with 17 points, while adding four rebounds and six assists in just 24 minutes.

He followed that effort with another strong all-around performance against Saskatchewan, once again posting 17 points, four rebounds, and six assists. Although the Stingers came up short in both contests, Davis Jr. has remained a steady offensive leader as Edmonton enters the final stretch of the regular season.

Through 17 games this season, Davis Jr. is averaging 13.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, continuing to establish himself as one of the league's reliable backcourt contributors.

Phil Carr | Hall In (The Basketball Tournament)
Former Bears forward Phil Carr (Class of 2018) is competing in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) with Hall In after a successful overseas season with UniFacisa Paraiba of the Brazilian NBB.

The 6-foot-9 forward, an All-MEAC First Team selection during his senior season at Morgan State, recently suited up against Boeheim's Army in TBT action. Carr logged 23 minutes, finishing with five rebounds and three points in his season debut as Hall In battled before falling 81-76.

While the result didn't go Hall In's way, Carr continues to demonstrate the versatility and professionalism that have defined his career since leaving Morgan State.

As Bears alumni continue to compete at the professional level around the world, their success reflects the strength of Morgan State's basketball program. It serves as an inspiration for the next generation of student-athletes wearing the blue and orange.
