Morgan State Adds Saint Joseph’s transfer Myles Douglas

BALTIMORE, Md. (June 14, 2021) – Saint Joseph's University transfer Myles Douglas has signed to play basketball for Morgan State University, head coach Kevin Broadus has announced. He is currently enrolled in summer courses and is participating in summer activities.

"Myles brings experience and leadership," said Broadus. "He carries himself in a professional manner and takes care of his business on and off the court."

"Myles will be a great example for our younger players and fill a void as a big wing who can impact the game in a variety of ways that will impact winning."

Douglas, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound guard from Edgewood, Maryland, will be an academic redshirt senior when he dons a Blue and Orange jersey.

Douglas played at Saint Joe's under head coach Billy Lange, and he also spent two seasons at the University of Central Florida under Johnny Dawkins. He redshirted the 2018-19 season.

Douglas started in 22 of 32 games as a redshirt sophomore for the Hawks during the 2019-20 season. He earned the Big 5′s Leading Free Throw Shooter after shooting 87.1 percent (61-of-70) from the foul line; he ranked fourth on the team in scoring (7.8 ppg), tied for third in assists (43) and finished third in three-point percentage (.321).

For his high school career, Douglas was named All Class 3A and led the 3A in scoring as a senior. He led Aberdeen to a UCBAC Championship and earned WCAC Honorable Mention, All-MIAA-B Conference and was an All-USA Maryland Team selection.

Douglas joins an MSU team that returns All-MEAC guards De'Torrion Ware and Malik Miller. The Bears lost three seniors in All-MEAC forward Troy Baxter Jr. (13.7 ppg), and forwards Victor Okafor and Jamar Brown (7.5 ppg).

In his second season at MSU, Broadus led the Bears to a MEAC best 14-8 record, including a 3-1 record against Division I non-conference opponents. The Bears advanced to the MEAC Tournament title game where they fell to Norfolk State. It marked the Bears first appearance in the conference finals since 2014.
