Devonish-Prince Named to MEAC All-Rookie Team

NORFOLK, Va. (March 7, 2019) -- Morgan State freshman guard Sherwyn Devonish Prince, a native of Bladensburg, Maryland, has been named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team as announced by the conference office.
 
He is the fifth Bear under head coach Todd Bozeman to collect All-Rookie accolades, also marking the fourth consecutive season that Morgan State has been represented on the league's postseason honors.
 
Devonish has started in all 29 games this season, sitting second among the Bears with 10.6 points per game and contributing 2.2 assists each night. On the season, Devonish is shooting 34.9 percent from the field goal and leads the league by shooting 88.5 percent from the free throw line.

Devonish was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week four times during the regular season.
 
His 22 points (7-16 FG) against CSUN on Dec. 29 marked the most by a Bear rookie this season. He has scored 306 points, scored in double-figures 17 times, and has led the team in scoring seven times. He reached 16 season 3-pointers made with a triple against Coppin State on March 7 and for the season he is shooting 27.6 percent from distance. He is also averaging 2.0 rebounds per game.

Devonish-Prince was an All-State recruit out of Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High where he led the Pumas to the Prince George's County Championship in 2018.
 
The Bears are currently preparing for the First Round of the MEAC Tournament where they will face No. 7 seed Coppin State on Tues., March 12. Morgan State, seeded tenth, will meet the Eagles at 8:30 p.m. from the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
