Morgan State's Maestro: Elijah Davis Named MEAC Player of the Week

BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 23, 2026) -- Morgan State University guard Elijah Davis has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week following a standout performance in last week's conference action. 

Harris shares the weekly honor with Cedric Taylor III of Howard University.

Davis helped the Bears post a 1-1 mark in MEAC play with back-to-back strong outings. Against North Carolina Central, he poured in a season-high 25 points on 53 percent shooting (8-of-15) from the field, while also contributing five rebounds, two assists, and one steal. In Saturday's win over Delaware State, Davis added 15 points, seven rebounds, one steal, and a school-tying 15 assists, showcasing his all-around game and leadership on the floor.

The Severn, Md. native is currently averaging 13.8 points (9th in the MEAC), 6.0 assists (1st), 3.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals (6th) while logging 34 minutes per game (2nd). Davis has reached double figures in scoring 16 times this season, including three 20-point performances.

Over his last five games, Davis has elevated his play even further, averaging 16.4 points, 7.4 assists, and 5.4 rebounds per contest, proving to be a force on both ends of the floor during a critical stretch of conference play.

With his leadership, toughness, and consistency, Davis continues to solidify his role as one of the top playmakers in the league.

Next up, the Bears return to action, aiming to build on their strong conference performances as they pursue a top spot in the league standings. Morgan State will tip off against South Carolina State on Wednesday night (Feb. 25) in Orangeburg, S.C.
