BALTIMORE, Md. (March 5, 2024)--Morgan State freshman Ellie Bostedt was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, presented by Coca-Cola.
 
Howard graduate student outfielder Bianca Worthy was named MEAC Player of the Week, while Norfolk State junior Lauren Sheehan was named MEAC Pitcher of the Week.
 
A native of Las Vegas, Nev., Bostedt started the Lady Bears' series opener at No. 17 Baylor over the weekend. Bostedt collected an ERA of 1.17, while pitching 6.0 innings. She surrendered two runs on six hits with two walks and one strikeout in a 2-0 loss to the host Bears.
 
Bostedt and Morgan State are back in action at home this weekend when they welcome Wagner and Army for the MSU Tournament (March 9-10) at Lois T. Murray Field. On Saturday, March 9, the Lady Bears host Wagner at 10 a.m., before closing out Day 1 against Army at 12 p.m. Morgan State closes out the tournament on Sunday when it takes on Army at 10 a.m., followed by Wagner at 2 p.m.
