Cousins Named MEAC Pitcher Of The Week, Again

NORFOLK, Va. (March 30, 2026)--Morgan State junior pitcher Millie Cousins was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. It's the second weekly honor this season for Cousins, who also received the award on March 9.
 
Howard junior Makyia Taylor was named MEAC Player of the Week, while Norfolk State freshman Samantha Stevenson was named MEAC Rookie of the Week.
 
A native of Sydney, Australia, Cousins improved to 6-7 on the season, after going 2-0 for the week to help Morgan State finish the week with a 3-1 record. Cousins appeared in three games, making two starts during the week. She would go the distance in both starts, earning the victory.
 
Cousins finished the week with an ERA of 1.29, while pitching a total of 16.1 innings, squandering three earned runs on 16 hits. Cousins tossed a total of 11 strikeouts, including a season-high five strikeouts twice in Games 1 and 3 against Maryland Eastern Shore.
 
As a hitter, she batted .400, recording four hits, a run, 2 RBI and two walks in four games. Cousins went 2-for-4 with a walk at George Washington. She then finished 1-for-3 with a run, RBI and a walk in Game 2 against UMES.
 
Morgan State (8-17, 5-4 MEAC), winners of seven of its last nine games, will be off until Friday, April 3, when it travels to Dover, Del., to take on Delaware State in a MEAC doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. The Lady Bears and Hornets will conclude their series with a single game on Saturday at 11 a.m.
