BALTIMORE, Md. (April 2, 2026)--The Morgan State softball team will look to stay hot this weekend when they travel to Dover, Del. to face the Delaware State Hornets in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) series at DSU Softball Field.

Since dropping all three games to South Carolina State in its MEAC series opener, the Lady Bears have won seven of their last nine games. During the stretch, Morgan State has won three straight multi-game series, including back-to-back MEAC series wins.

The Lady Bears (8-17, 5-4 MEAC) are coming off a MEAC series sweep of Maryland Eastern Shore last weekend in Baltimore. Â

Millie Cousins finished the week appearing in three games, making two starts to go 2-0 with an ERA of 1.29. Cousins pitched 16.1 innings, throwing two complete games, recording 11 strikeouts and allowing just three earned runs to help the Lady Bears to a 3-1 record on the week. Cousins would earn MEAC Pitcher of the Week honors for her performance.

Alison Keener batted .636 (7-for-11) with three doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored, helping Morgan State to its first MEAC series sweep of the season.

Delaware State (10-16, 3-6 MEAC) is coming off a series win at Coppin State last weekend, winning both games of the doubleheader on Saturday, before falling in the finale, 11-10. Sunday's loss ended a four-game winning streak.

The Hornets held a 10-8 lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning when Coppin State's Xzylia Maravilla hit a three-run pinch hit homer to left field to give the host Eagles the 11-10 victory.

MSU-DSU Series Notes: Morgan State holds a 22-9 series lead over the Hornets, dating back to the 2015 season. Last season Delaware State won 2-of-3 games to win the series in Baltimore. The year before, Morgan State won the 2024 series in Dover, Del., claiming two games
