PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 29, 2023) — The Morgan State men's track and field team wrapped action at the 127th Penn Relays on Friday at Franklin Field.
The Bears relay teams had solid performances at one of the nation's premier facilities.
How it Happened
● The Bears quartet of Ali Bowens, Adrian Holley, Antonio Sims and Jadon Ra-Akbar crossed the tape by clocking in a time of 42.35 to place 10th in the 4x100m College (Heats).
● Morgan raced to a 14th place finish in the College 4x200m Championship of America. Bowens ran the opening leg followed by Holley and Sims before Emmanuel Ibeh finished the anchor leg. The quartet clocked in with a season best 1:33.53.
● Under the Friday night lights in the College Men's 4x400 College (Heats), the Bears foursome of Sims, Ibeh, Tarique Gooden and Davian Gray ran a time of 3:25.63 to take 15th place.
● In the field events, Omari McKenzie recorded a leap of 13.76m (45-1 ¾) to place 12th in the College Triple Jump on Friday.
● John Purvis also recorded a 13th place finish in the College Shot Put with a toss of 16.45 (53-11 ¾).
Looking Ahead
Next up, the Bears will be in action at the 2023 MEAC Track & Field Championships scheduled for May 11-13 at Dick Price Stadium on the campus of Norfolk State in Norfolk, Virginia.
