Morgan State Track & Field Teams Prepare for MEAC Outdoor Championships Title in Norfolk

BALTIMORE, Md. (May 13, 2026) -- The Morgan State University men's and women's track & field teams are set to compete this week at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 14–16 at William "Dick" Price Stadium on the campus of Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia.
 
The Bears enter the championship meet focused on delivering strong performances across multiple event areas, with the goal of earning qualifying marks for the NCAA East First Round, scheduled for May 27–30, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track & Field Facility in Lexington, Kentucky.
 
Competition opens Thursday, May 14, at 1:00 p.m. with the men's decathlon, followed shortly by the women's heptathlon at 1:15 p.m. The first medals of the championship will be awarded following the completion of the men's and women's discus, high jump, and 10,000-meter run events.
 
Friday's schedule features a full slate of preliminary rounds along with finals in several field events, including the long jump, shot put, hammer throw, and the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
 
Championship Saturday will be streamed live on ESPN+, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The broadcast will open with the 4x100-meter relay finals and conclude with the men's 4x400-meter relay final at 4:15 p.m. Team trophies and Outstanding Performer honors will be awarded following the final events.
 
Morgan State most recently competed at the Maryland Kehoe Invitational in College Park on May 1. A total of 33 student-athletes — 17 men and 16 women — are slated to represent the Bears in Norfolk.
