HIGH POINT, N.C. (March 18 2023) — The Morgan State men's track and field team kicked off the outdoor season at the annual Bill Webb Combined Events/Bob Davidson Memorial Invitational hosted by High Point University at Vert Stadium Friday and Saturday.
How it Happened
● Adrian Holley turned in a 13th place finish in the 100m dash with a time of 10.96 (2.4). His time currently ranks No. 8 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
● Freshman Ali Bowens raced to a 7th place finish in the 200m clocking in at 22.60 (-2.0).
● Davian Gray placed 4th in the 800m run with a time of 1:58.04 -- it's currently the fastest time in the MEAC. The junior also posted an 11th place finish in the 1500m with a personal best time of 4:06.37 -- currently ranks No. 2 in the MEAC.
● Justin Alston placed 11th in the 3000m steeplechase recording a time of 11:27.69.
● John Purvis placed 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.84m. The junior also placed 5th in the discus with a toss of 42.70m.
● Sophomore Omari McKenzie took 5th place in the triple jump with a mark of 13.44m (-0.2).
● Morgan captured the 4x100m relay (Jadon Ra-Akbar, Antonio Sims, Ali Bowens, Adrian Holley) by breaking the tape with a time of 41.85.
