Bears Have Solid Performances at Penn State Sykes and Sabock Challenge

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (Feb. 4, 2023) - The Morgan State men's track and field teams competed well at the Penn State Sykes and Sabock Challenge. The Bears were one of 11 teams competing at the Multisport Facility and Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track.

How it Happened

    ● Junior Adrian Holley and senior Ali Bowens placed sixth (22.44) and seventh (22.46) place, respectively, in the 200m dash.

    ● Junior Emmanuel Ibeh placed 10th in the 400m with a time of 51.10.

    ● Freshman Dante Jackson recorded a personal best time of 1:04.70 in the 500m run.

    ● Sophomore Davian Gray ran a personal best time of 4:20.78 in the mile run, he also posted a time of 1:56.17 to take ninth place in the 800m run.

    ● In the 60m hurdles, Duane Kizer  took second place with a time of 8.30.

    ● The 4x400 meter relay team of Duane Kizer, Ali Bowens, Emmanuel Ibeh and Devion Bryant posted a time of 3:24.27.

    ● Sophomore Joshua Belinga placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.05m (19-10.25) and the triple jump with a mark of 13.26m (43-06.00).

    ● Junior John Purvis placed seventh in the shot put with a toss of 15.84 (51-11.75) and eighth place in the weight throw with a mark of 14.83m (48-08.00).
