NORFOLK, Va. (April 11, 2022)-Morgan State sophomore Anaya Hunte was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week, presented by Coca-Cola on Monday. It was the third honor for Hunte, who also garnered the honor on March 7 and March 21.
 
Maryland Eastern Shore redshirt freshman Tatum Kresley was named MEAC Softball Player of the Week, while Norfolk State's Kenna Higa was named MEAC Rookie of the Week.

Hunte went 1-0 for the week with an ERA of 0.00 in a complete game, 9-0 shutout victory at Delaware State in the doubleheader opener on Sunday.
 
A native of Burlington, N.J., Hunte allowed one hit and walked one batter, while striking out 10 Hornets in five innings of work. She improved to 8-3 on the season with the victory and has now thrown a team-leading 68 strikeouts on the season.

The Lady Bears (17-13, 8-3 MEAC) are scheduled to host league-leader Maryland Eastern Shore in a crucial MEAC series this weekend at Lois T. Murray Field. The series gets underway with a doubleheader on Friday, April 15 starting at 1 p.m. and will conclude with a single-game on Saturday, April 16 at noon.
