Huggins II Named to NFL College Football Administrator Committee

BALTIMORE, Md. — Morgan State University Director of Football Operations Gerald Huggins II has been named a member of the NFL College Football Administrator Committee, joining a select group of college football administrators working with the National Football League to strengthen the relationship between college football and the professional game.

The College Football Administrator Committee brings together administrators from FBS and FCS programs across the country to provide strategic feedback to the NFL on college football engagement, player development, communications and initiatives designed to strengthen the pathway from college football to the NFL.

As a committee member, Huggins will contribute his experience and perspective on behalf of Morgan State University and the FCS/HBCU football community. The committee's work includes identifying opportunities to enhance digital and in-person engagement with college football programs, developing resources for college football players and administrators, and providing recommendations related to NFL College Outreach initiatives.

"The opportunity to contribute to conversations that directly impact the college football player pathway is a tremendous honor," said Huggins. "I look forward to bringing the perspective of Morgan State University and HBCU football to the table while working alongside administrators from across the country and the NFL to identify meaningful opportunities for our student-athletes."

The committee also serves as a forum for college administrators to collaborate with NFL Football Operations and provide insight into programs and resources that can better support student-athletes as they pursue opportunities at the professional level.

Huggins brings a distinctive combination of football operations, player development, scouting and media experience to the committee. In addition to his role at
Morgan State, he has developed extensive experience evaluating collegiate talent and supporting the professional development of football players. His work includes scouting responsibilities with the East-West Shrine Bowl and FCS Football Central, as well as involvement with HBCU football talent evaluation and postseason awards.

His appointment further elevates Morgan State's voice within national conversations surrounding the development and advancement of HBCU football student-athletes.

The committee's responsibilities include attending meetings with NFL Football Operations, offering strategic recommendations to enhance the college football player pathway, and partnering with the NFL on college-specific initiatives and programming.
