NORFOLK, Va. – Morgan State's
Brylan Carter has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) 2025-26 Woman of the Year, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Carter, a member of the women's track & field team, closed out her career as the 2026 MEAC Outdoor Championship Women's Field Athlete of the Meet. She took home a pair of gold medals at the championships in the hammer throw and javelin, in addition to placing fourth in the discus throw.
Having majored in Health Education with a focus in Pre-Professional Physical Therapy, Carter is the third overall and second straight Bear to earn the honor. During her time at Morgan, she earned Dean's List, MEAC Academic Honor Roll, and AD's Honor Roll distinction. In April, Carter was also recognized as the Morgan State Effietee Payne Women's Honoree - given to the top all-around female student-athlete.
An Under Armour 25x25 Collegiate Initiative Volunteer Winner for her community service efforts, Carter hopes to continue her education and pursue a career in physical therapy.
The MEAC Woman of the Year is awarded to a female student-athlete who has excelled academically and athletically and is in her final season of intercollegiate athletics eligibility and competition under the MEAC and NCAA regulations for the sport in which the student-athlete was nominated.
The selected student-athlete had to demonstrate academic achievement, athletic excellence, and a sustained commitment to service and leadership. Their contributions should have made a meaningful impact on their campus, local community, and/or at the regional or national level.
