Track & Field’s Jeryco Sheppard Named MEAC Field Athlete of the Week

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 8, 2026) – Morgan State track & field freshman Jeryco Sheppard has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday.

The Dundalk (Md.) native continued his strong outdoor campaign this past weekend at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational, a two-day meet held at George Mason Stadium in Fairfax, Virginia. He cleared 4.60m in the pole vault for fifth place, a mark that currently ranks No. 1 among HBCUs. He also tied for second place in the high jump by clearing a personal best 2.00m.

It marked the second time this season that Sheppard earned the honor, following a standout performance at the Darius Dixon Meet, where he cleared a personal-best 4.51 meters in the pole vault.

The Morgan State men's and women's track & field teams return to action this weekend as they travel to Durham, N.C., for the Duke Invitational, scheduled for April 8–11 at the Morris Williams Track & Field Stadium, hosted by Duke University.
