Morgan State Track & Field Gearing Up for Duke Invitational

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 8, 2026) -- The Morgan State men's and women's track & field teams return to action this weekend as they travel to Durham, N.C., for the Duke Invitational, scheduled for April 8–11 at the Morris Williams track & Field Stadium and hosted by Duke University.

The meet kicks off Wednesday at 12 p.m. with the women's decathlon, followed by the heptathlon at 1 p.m., with both events wrapping up Thursday. Competition resumes Friday with field events starting at 9:30 a.m., and track events beginning at 3:15 p.m., starting with the men's 100m hurdles prelims. Saturday's action opens with the long jump at 11 a.m., followed by the women's 4x100m relay at 12 p.m. Duke will honor their seniors at 11:30 a.m.

A total of 23 Bears are scheduled to compete this weekend in Durham, including 15 members of the men's team and 8 from the women's squad.

The meet presents an opportunity for several Bears to continue building momentum following solid performances at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational, hosted by George Mason University.

Morgan State is looking for more records and standout performances to fall this weekend, following highlights like Caleb Mincey's school-record 800m, Ronald Gilmore's personal best in the 100m, Aleah Alexander's personal-best clearance in the high jump, and strong showings from the Bears' relay teams.

With four meets remaining before the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships, the Duke Invitational provides another key test for Morgan State. The competition this weekend is expected to match the intensity of conference and regional meets, giving athletes crucial experience as they gear up to peak later this spring.

Fans can follow the meet through live results, with final results posted on the Morgan State track & field schedule page following the conclusion of competition. Additional information, including the meet schedule and heat sheets, is available on the meet's official homepage.
