Women’s Track & Field Delivers Strong Performances at Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 25, 2026)
-- The Morgan State women's track & field team competed this weekend in Philadelphia at the 130th running of the Penn Relays, held at historic Franklin Field. The prestigious meet once again served as a premier stage for the Bears to test themselves against some of the nation's top collegiate and professional talent.
 
Morgan State entered the weekend focused on delivering strong performances, with an emphasis on improving season-best marks and securing qualifying standards ahead of the championship portion of the season. The Penn Relays featured more than 21,000 athletes representing 28 countries, with the Bears competing on Friday and concluding action with finals on Saturday.
 
The Bears turned in a strong showing, highlighted by a standout performance in the 4x100-meter relay. The quartet of Jatavia Robinson, Anyra Knight, Aleisha Robinson, and Keira Stewart opened with a second-place finish in their heat, clocking a season-best 46.00 to advance to the Championship of America final. In Saturday afternoon's final, Morgan State continued its momentum, racing to a third-place finish in 47.51 to earn a podium spot against a highly competitive field.
 
The same group also competed in the 4x200-meter relay, recording a season-best time of 1:37.55 to place 12th overall. In the 4x400-meter relay heats, the team of Aleisha Robinson, Natalia Eastman, Keira Stewart, and Kayla Gordon finished 13th with a season-best time of 3:48.96. Individually, Jatavia Robinson posted an 11th-place finish in the 100-meter dash prelims, crossing the line in 11.74.
 
In the field events, Keira Stewart delivered another podium performance in the long jump, placing third with a leap of 6.04 meters. Cailyn Johnson also contributed a strong effort, recording a top-10 finish in the discus with a throw of 47.45 meters (PR), rounding out an impressive weekend for the Bears.

College 4x100m College
The Morgan State quartet of Jatavia Robinson, Anyra Knight, Aleisha Robinson, and Keira Stewart crossed the finish line with a 2nd place finish with a season-best time of 46.00, just behind Quinnipiac (45.07) in Heat 1 to advance to Saturday's finals. In the finals, the quartet crossed the finish line with a 3rd place finish with a time of 47.51.

College 4x200m Relay Championship of America
The Morgan State (Jatavia Robinson, Anyra Knight, Aleisha Robinson, Keira Stewart) placed 12th with a season-best time of 1:37.55, finishing fifth in Heat 3.

College 4x400m Relay College (Heats)
Morgan State (Aleisha Robinson, Natalia Eastman, Keira Stewart, Kayla Gordon) placed 13th with a season-best time of 3:48.96.

College 100m Dash (Heats)
Jatavia Robinson ran an 11.74 to place 11th.

Field Events:
College Long Jump College
Keirra Stewart placed 3rd with a distance of 6.04m on her fifth attempt.

Discus Throw College
Cailyn Johnson posted a Top-10 finish by placing 7th with a season-best toss of 47.45 on her fifth throw of the event.
