DURHAM, N.C. (April 11, 2026) -- The Morgan State women's track & field team continued its outdoor campaign this weekend at the Duke Invitational, competing over two days at Morris Williams Stadium in Durham, N.C.
Hosted by Duke University, the invitational featured a competitive field that included Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference opponents Coppin State University, North Carolina Central University, and Norfolk State University.
Morgan State turned in several encouraging performances across the weekend, highlighted by top-eight finishes from sophomore
Jatavia Robinson in the 200 meters and the 4x100-meter relay team, as well as a personal-best leap from
Keira Stewart in the long jump. The strong showing signals what should be an exciting time for Morgan State as it hosts the Legacy Track Meet (April 17-18) next week at Hughes Stadium.
FRIDAY, APRIL 10
Morgan State's women opened Day 1 on Friday with several strong performances, led by impressive efforts on the track and in the throwing events. Sophomore
Jatavia Robinson paced the Bears in the 100-meter preliminaries, clocking an outstanding 11.70 to finish ninth overall, narrowly missing a spot in the finals. The Bears also saw solid sprint performances from sophomore
Keira Stewart, who posted a season-best 12.37, and senior Aleshia Robinson, who turned in a personal-best 12.40. In the field events, senior Bryan Carter delivered a strong showing in the hammer throw with a mark of 47.53 meters to finish 21st, while sophomore
Cailyn Johnson recorded a toss of 44.00 meters in the discus to place 14th, helping Morgan close out the opening day with momentum heading into Saturday's competition.
