Morgan State Track & Field Set for Early-Season Test in Greenville

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 26, 2026) -- The Morgan State men's and women's track & field teams continue their outdoor campaign this weekend as they travel to Greenville, N.C., for the 12th Annual Bill Carson Invitational. The meet is scheduled for March 27–28 at the Bate Foundation Track & Field Stadium and hosted by East Carolina University.

Competition begins Friday at 10 a.m. with the women's discus, while track events are set to start at 4 p.m. Action resumes Saturday with field events at 10 a.m., followed by track events at 12 p.m., beginning with the 4x100-meter relay. The host Pirates will also hold their annual Senior Day celebration Saturday morning.

A total of 30 Bears are slated to compete this weekend, including 15 members each from the men's and women's teams.

Morgan State enters the weekend following a strong showing at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The men's team highlighted the meet with multiple runner-up finishes and a dominant performance in the 4x400-meter relay. The women's squad also turned in several standout efforts, including a pair of runner-up finishes and a season-best mark from the 4x400-meter relay team.

This weekend presents another opportunity for the Bears to build on that momentum. Coaches will focus on continued progress in race execution, improved field-event marks, and strengthening relay chemistry as lineups continue to take shape.

With the outdoor season still in its early stages, the Bill Carson Invitational serves as an important measuring stick as Morgan State prepares for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships later this spring. The level of competition in Greenville is expected to mirror that of conference and regional meets, providing valuable experience for the Bears.

Fans can follow the meet via live results, with final results posted on the Morgan State track & field schedule page following the conclusion of competition. Additional information, including the meet schedule and heat sheets, is available on the meet's official homepage.
