MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (March 21, 2026)
-- The Morgan State women's track & field team kicked off its outdoor campaign this weekend at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, a three-day meet held at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach.

Hosted by the City of Myrtle Beach, the invitational featured a competitive field of 45 teams representing 21 states, along with international entries from Ottawa, Canada.

The meet provided a strong early-season measuring stick for the Bears as they transitioned from the indoor season to outdoor competition. Morgan State turned in several encouraging performances across the weekend, signaling a promising start to the spring slate.

"The team's opener was very productive," said head coach Neville Hodge. "We had an opportunity to showcase our talent on a big stage, and we saw some very good performances."

With the outdoor season underway, the Bears will look to build on this momentum as they set their sights on the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships later this spring.
