Morgan State Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational

Bears Head to Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

BALTIMORE, Md. (March 18, 2026) -- The Morgan State men's and women's track & field teams will open their outdoor season this weekend when they travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational, set for a 3-day meet from March 19-21 at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. The meet is hosted by the City of Myrtle Beach, and the competition begins Friday with the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon.

A total of 38 Bears are scheduled to compete in more than 20 events this weekend in Myrtle Beach, including 22 members of the men's team and 16 from the women's squad.

The Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational will feature 45 participating teams and clubs from 21 states, with international participation from Ottawa, Canada. Ottawa, Canada.

Morgan State aims to build on its indoor campaign as the Bears transition to the outdoor season, where several athletes are expected to make an immediate impact across track and field events. The meet will serve as an early benchmark as the program prepares for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships later this spring.
