BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 23, 2026) -- The Morgan State women's track & field team competed at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, hosted at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. The Lady Bears finished sixth overall with 54 points and four medals.
Howard finished with 215 total points to secure the 2026 title. Norfolk State placed second with 125 points, followed by North Carolina Central with 97 points, for third place.
Powered by several standout individual performances, the Lady Bears closed out the indoor campaign with solid marks and competitive finishes.
Head coach Neville Hodge reflected, "Disappointed that we didn't meet all our goals, but I'm excited for the way the teams performed over the past two days at the MEAC Indoor Championships. We had some very rewarding moments and several personal and season-best marks and times. Our numbers were small, but we showed up big time."

MEAC Track & Field Championships | Results
Pentathlon:
Jayla-Shae Wright capped the indoor track and field season for the Bears on Monday, scoring 3,081 points to finish sixth in the pentathlon at the MEAC Indoor Championships.
The freshman from Hanover, Jamaica, delivered a standout performance in the shot put, earning a silver medal with a throw of 10.21 meters.
Wright opened the five-event competition on Sunday with a personal-best time of 9.87 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles to place 10th overall. She followed with another personal best in the high jump, clearing 1.57 meters on her final attempt to finish fifth.
In the long jump, Wright recorded a mark of 5.10 meters to place fourth. She closed out the pentathlon with a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters, crossing the line in 2:45.40.
DAY 1 | SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 22
Freshman Terry-Ann Thompson showcased her strength in the weight throw, earning a silver medal with a mark of 16.08 meters, while senior Brylan Carter placed fourth with a toss of 15.99 meters. On the runway, sophomore Keira Stewart leaped 5.67 meters to secure the bronze medal in the long jump, giving the Bears multiple podium finishes on the first day of competition.
On the track, freshman Jatavia Robinson set personal bests to advance to the 60m and 200m finals, joined by fellow freshman Anyra Knight, who ran a personal best of 8.67 seconds to qualify for the finals. The Morgan State distance medley relay team – Aaliyah Headley, Janiya Glass, Natalia Eastman, and Crystal Coke – ran a strong race to finish fourth in 11:47.88, rounding out a solid Day 1 for the Bears.

DAY 2 | MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23
The Lady Bears closed out the meet on Monday with several strong performances across the board, highlighted by podium finishes and multiple personal-best marks. In the field events, freshman Raven Johnson earned the bronze medal in the pole vault, clearing 3.00 meters to secure her spot on the podium. She also recorded a personal-best mark of 11.08 meters in the triple jump, adding to an impressive all-around showing.
On the track, freshman Natalia Eastman posted a personal-best time of 2:16.93 to finish sixth in the 800 meters, while junior Crystal Coke also notched a personal best, placing sixth in the 5000 meters with a time of 19:13.92. The Lady Bears' 4x400-meter relay team — Janiya Glass, Eastman, Aleisha Robinson, and Keira Stewart — capped the meet with a podium finish, clocking a season-best 3:50.60 to claim bronze.

The Lady Bears, Janiya Glass, Natalia Eastman, Aleisha Robinson, and Keira Stewart, finished off the meet with a podium finish as they crossed the tape in a season best 3:50.60 to take bronze.
The top three finishers in each event were named All-MEAC.
