Morgan State’s Jeryco Sheppard named MEAC Field Athlete of the Week

BALTIMORE, Md. (Feb. 18, 2026) – Freshman pole vaulter Jeryco Sheppard of Morgan State University has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
 
Sheppard earned the honor following a standout performance at the Darius Dixon Meet, where he cleared a personal-best 4.51 meters in the pole vault. The mark ranks No. 5 among HBCUs this season. He placed second overall in a competitive field of 15 collegians.
 
During the 2026 indoor campaign, Sheppard currently ranks second in the MEAC in the pole vault.
 
Sheppard and the Bears will travel to compete at the 2026 Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), on Sunday, Feb. 22, and Monday, Feb. 23, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach.
 
Monday's action will be streamed live on ESPN+ beginning at 12 p.m.
