SYMYRNA, Del. (Sept. 13, 2025) -- On Friday, September 12, the Morgan State cross-country teams competed in the Delaware State University Sting Invitational. The Bears competed against Delaware State, the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, Lincoln University, Bowie State, and Coppin State.Â
The Lady Bears secured a 3rd-place team finish with a combined time of 1:53:35. Senior Aaliyah Headley led the way, placing 7th in the women's 5k with a time of 21:20.8, while junior Crystal Coke followed close behind in 10th place at 21:47.6.
On the men's side, the Bears earned a 2nd-place team finish with a total time of 1:27:35, highlighted by three top-10 performances. Samuel Skinner led the group in 6th place at 16:57.0, followed by Caleb Mincey in 17:06.3 and Nathnael Gebremariam in 17:11.2.

"Both the men's and women's teams showed progress this weekend, but we need to focus more on execution in the middle of the race and finishing strong down the stretch," said Morgan State head coach Neville Hodge. "The second half of our schedule will help us improve heading into the next two meets, especially for the men as they transition to the 8K."
The Bears return to competition on September 20 at the UMES Soaring Hawks Invite in Princess Anne, Md.
