Results

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (August 30, 2025) –
The Morgan State men's cross country team officially started its 2025 season Saturday morning by competing at the UMES Season Opener. This first race served as an early test for the Bears, helping them assess their fitness early in the season and evaluate their roster.

Morgan State finished in third place as a team by scoring 80 points (1:28:27.30) with an average time of 17:41.46. Norfolk State finished in first place (20 pts), followed by Delaware State (38 pts). Host Maryland Eastern Shore placed fourth (100 pts).

Morgan State sophomore Samuel Skinner gave a strong performance at The Hawks Cross Country Pavilion, leading the Bears with an impressive run on the 5K course. Skinner set himself apart by finishing in the top 10, crossing the line in ninth place overall. His effort resulted in a time of 16:14.79, placing him among the top competitors and making him a key player for the Morgan State team in this meet.

Morgan's team showed solid effort from several runners, with sophomore Caleb Mincey, freshman Natnael Gebremariam, and freshman Cameron Stuckless leading the way. Mincey finished 13th with a time of 16:59.91. Gebremariam was close behind, finishing 17th in 18:11.79.

Stuckless came in 20th with a time of 18:22.40, narrowly beating freshman teammate Miguel Graham, who ran 18:38.41. Freshmen Keenan Frisby and Joshua Moore finished 23rd (19:13.36) and 25th (20:18.75), respectively.

Morgan will return to competition on Saturday, September 12, at the Delaware State Invitational in Smyrna, Delaware.
