JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 29, 2025)--Tia Jackson's run at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Region First Round unfortunately came to an end on Thursday afternoon at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.

Jackson, who entered this week's meet ranked tied for 47
th in the East region, jumped her way to a mark of 19-7 ½ (5.98 meters) to place 22
nd overall among the top 48 long jumpers in the East region. Jackson's distance would fall short of advancing to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships (June 11-14, 2025) at historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

A native of Bristol, UK, Jackson concluded what has been a stellar collegiate career at Morgan State.

This season, competing in her final home meet of her career, Jackson won gold in the long jump at the MSU Legacy Meet with a mark of 6.00 meters.

The following week, during the 129
th running of the world-famous Penn Relays, Jackson claimed the long jump title with a leap of 6.12 meters on her sixth and final jump of the day. It was the second time in her career that she captured the Penn Relays long jump title. Jackson would also win the event during the 2023 Penn Relays with a mark of 6.11 meters.

At the 2025 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championships in Norfolk, Va., Jackson achieved a distance of 6.02 meters to earn the gold medal, cementing her status as one of the top long jumpers in the conference. Jackson's victory marked the third time in her career that she captured gold in the long jump at the MEAC Outdoor Championships (2022, 2023, 2025).

In 2023, Jackson showcased her impressive long jump capabilities at the Annual MSU Legacy Track & Field Meet, where she soared to a career-best distance of 6.21 meters to capture gold.

During the 2022 indoor season, Jackson would set the Navy Invitational record in the long jump with a leap of 5.99 meters, breaking the old mark of 5.93 meters set in 2007.
