TOWSON, Md. (April 4, 2025)--The Morgan State women's track and field team traveled to nearby Towson on Friday to compete in the Towson Senior Twilight Meet hosted by Towson University.
The Lady Bears produced 17 top-10 finishes, including two individual champions in
Brylan Carter and
Keira Stewart.
Carter had a throw of 156-05 (47.68m) to capture the hammer throw title. Stewart would win the long jump title with a leap of 5-03.00 (1.60m).
How It Happened

Azariah Jones placed second in the pole vault with a height of 9-00.50 (2.76m).
●
Cailyn Johnson placed second in the discus with a toss of 132-02 (40.29m). Carter recorded a season-best in the discus with a throw of 114-10 (35.01m) to place ninth.
●
Tia Jackson and
TyTiana Grandy placed third and fourth in the high jump, respectively. Jackson recorded a height of 5-03.00 (1.60m), while Grandy had a height of 5-01.00 (1.55m).
●
Laniyah Henderson set a season-best mark in the long jump, following a leap of 17-11.00 (5.46m) to place fourth.
● On the track,
Aaliyah Headley finished second in the 800-meter run to finish second with a personal-best time of 2:22.28.
Jessica Lamborn came in second in the 1500-meter run to finish second in a time of 4:54.50.

Kayla More set a season-best 1:01.16 to place seventh in the 400-meter dash, while
Jatavia Robinson finished seventh in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.41.
●
Lailah King and Robinson each recorded season-best times in the 100-meter dash. King ran 12.14 seconds to place sixth, while Robinson also ran 12.14 seconds to finish seventh.
● The Lady Bears' 4X100 relay teams also had a successful outing on the track.

Victoria Francis, Hemetii Apet and Azaria Jones crossed the line in 50.11 seconds to place sixth.
Next Up: Morgan State will travel to Tampa, Fla. to compete in the South Florida Invitational hosted by South Florida University (April 11-12).
