Jackson Wins Long Jump At World-Famous Penn Relays

Meet Results

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 28, 2025)--
Morgan State sent several members of the women's track and field team to Philadelphia over the weekend to compete in the 129th running of the Penn Relays held at historic Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.

Tia Jackson would not disappoint at the annual three-day carnival presented by Toyota, as she captured the long jump title with a leap of 20-1.00 (6.12m) on her sixth and final jump of the day. It would be the Lady Bears' lone title of the weekend. Jackson's mark in the long jump is currently tops among MEAC performers.

It was the second time in Jackson's career that she captured the long jump title at the world-famous Penn Relays. During the 2023 Penn Relays, Jackson won the event after recording a jump of 20-0.50 (6.11 meters).

Fellow teammates Keira Stewart (17-10.25) and Laniyah Henderson (16-10.50) each placed in the top 20 in the long jump, as Stewart finished 17th and Henderson was 19th overall. Henderson would also solidify an eighth-place finish in the triple jump after recording a jump of 38-11.50.

On the track, the women's 4X100 relay team of Jatavia Robinson, Tia Jackson, Lailah King and Keira Stewart would run a time of 47.18 to place ninth during the preliminary round to advance to the finals of the 4X100 relay College section.

Next Up: The Lady Bears will travel to College Park, Md. for the Maryland Kehoe Twilight Meet, hosted by the University of Maryland on Friday, May 2 at 5 p.m.
