Stewart Wins Long Jump At Charlotte 49er Classic

Morgan's 4X400 A relay team came in third after running a time of 4:01.72.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 22, 2025)--Morgan State's Keira Stewart recorded a personal best mark of 19-9.00 (6.02m) to win the long jump at the Charlotte 49er Classic (March 20-22) at Irwin Belk Track and Field Center.

The Lady Bears had 12 top-10 finishes, including five top-five marks.

In the field events, Cailyn Johnson placed third in the discus with a throw of 142-0.00 (43.28m). TyTiana Grandy finished fourth in the high jump A section with a height of 5-3.25 (1.61m).

Brylan Carter also recorded a personal best in the hammer throw, as she recorded a throw of 156-7.00 (47.74m) to finish eighth.

Morgan State's 4X400 A relay team of Victoria Francis, Lailah King, Aleisha Robinson and Keira Stewart came in third after running a time of 4:01.72.

Both of the Lady Bears' 4X100 relay teams would finish in the top 10. The A team of Jatavia Robinson, Lailah King, Aleisha Robinson and Keira Stewart ran a time of 47.18 to place third. The B team of Deborah Adekayode, Victoria Francis, Laniyah Henderson and Denisha McLaurin finished in 48.75 seconds to place eighth.

Other top-10 performances came from Victoria Francis in the 400-meter dash, as she finished in seventh place with a time of 57.00 seconds.

Keira Stewart and Lailah King each ran 12.20 in the 100-meter dash to finish ninth and 10^th, respectively.

Denisha McLaurin placed 10^th in the 100-meter hurdles after crossing the line in 15.09 seconds.

Morgan State will be back in action on Saturday, March 29 when it travels to nearby Towson, Md. to compete in the Towson Invitational.
