Smith Named MVP Of Bulldog Classic

FORT WORTH, Texas (March 2, 2025)--Morgan State senior bowler Kiara Smith was named MVP of the Bulldog Classic, hosted by Louisiana Tech, following Day 2 of the tournament on Saturday at Cityview Lanes.
 
Smith totaled 1,031 pins in five games for an average of 206.20. Smith's total was one pin more than Shelby Davis of Oklahoma Christian, who collected 1,030 pins and placed second.
 
A native of Evergreen Park, Ill., Smith recorded back-to-back high games of 215 in wins over Central Missouri and Alabama State. Smith would also role a 210 in a victory over Saint Anselm.
 
Joining Smith on the Bulldog Classic All-Tournament Team were Shelby Davis (Oklahoma Christian), Rachel Ong (Louisiana Tech), Jammie Burrow (Oklahoma Christian) and Paulina Avalos (Louisiana Tech).
 
Heading into Sunday's Championship bracket, the Lady Bears were in fifth place tied with sixth-place Alabama State with identical 4-6 records. The two will meet in the first round on Sunday.
