Women’s Bowling Advances At MEAC Championship

Lady Bears go 1-1 on Opening Day to stay alive in tournament.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 21, 2026)--
The Morgan State bowling team began the 2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Championship on Friday going 1-1 on the opening day at the Triad Lanes.
 
The fourth-seeded Lady Bears dropped their opening round match to No. 5 Maryland Eastern Shore, 2-0. The Hawks defeated Morgan 960-896 in the traditional games and earned a 960-826 victory in Baker play.
 
Facing elimination, Morgan State regrouped in the afternoon session to eliminate No. 8 Norfolk State 2-0. The Lady Bears put together a dominating performance, defeating the Spartans 815-615 in traditional play, followed by a 979-715 win in Baker competition to stay alive and advance to the next round of the elimination bracket.
 
The Lady Bears will look to stay alive in the tournament when they take on No. 6 Howard in an elimination bracket match at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
 
The Bison upended third-seeded Delaware State in their opener, before falling to No. 2 Alabama-Birmingham in the quarterfinals.
