Morgan State’s MEAC Championship Run Ends On Day 2

Bowling team fends off Howard; falls to UMES

GREENSBORO, N.C. (March 21, 2026)--Morgan State's exciting run in the 2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Championship, came to an end on Saturday on Day 2 of the event at the Triad Lanes.
 
Morgan State extended its tournament run, after keeping its hopes alive with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Beltway rival Howard. The Lady Bears got by Howard with a slim 864-853 victory in traditional match play. The Bison would then secure a Baker win, 870-833.
 
The Lady Bears bounced back in the best-of-seven Baker series, earning a 4-2 victory. Morgan State senior Johnna Hill led the Lady Bears, rolling a 200 in traditional play.
 
Morgan State would again battle through another thrilling consolation match but would fall to Maryland Eastern Shore in the consolation final. The Lady Bears claimed the traditional match with an 845-834 victory. UMES evened the score as it responded with a 997-929 win in Baker play. The Hawks carried the momentum into the Baker best-of-seven series, winning 4-2 to advance to the consolation final against Alabama-Birmingham at 9 a.m. The winner will take on defending champion North Carolina A&T in the title match at 2 p.m. The title match will air live on ESPN+.
