UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (Feb. 8, 2025) — The Morgan State men's indoor track and field team competed at the Sykes & Sabock Invitational hosted by Penn State at the PSU Multi-Sport Facility.
Facing off against a competitive field of seasoned athletes, the Bears rose to the occasion and delivered an impressive performance, the Bears secured seven individual top-10 finishes. Among these achievements, one standout performance resulted in a coveted top-5 finish.
How it Happened
● Junior Jadon Ra-Akbar placed seventh in the 60m hurdles by crossing the tape with a time of 8.47. He also ran a 23.58 in the 200m dash.
● Junior Dante Jackson clocking a personal best time of 6.93 seconds in the highly competitive 200-meter dash to take 3rd place.
● KeSean-Jordan Rhooms placed 13th in the in the long jump with a personal best leap of 6.10 meters, followed closely behind by Omari McKenzie who recorded a mark of 6.08 meters.
● Rushshane Fullerton placed 7th in the 600m with a personal best time of 1:21.27, followed by Samuel Skinner who posted a personal best time of 1:21.27 to take 8th place. Skinner also ran a 4:35.47 in the mile.
● Freshman Demond Smith finished 12th place in the shot put with a distance of 16.07 meters.
