BOSTON, Mass. (Jan. 24, 2025) -- The Morgan State men's indoor track and field team competed at the Riverhawk Invitational at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts.
Competing against strong opposition, the Bears recorded five individual top-10 finishes, including one top-3 finish.
How it Happened
● KeSean-Jordan Rhooms delivered an outstanding performance for the Bears in the field events. Rhooms made a significant mark in the triple jump, capturing an impressive second-place finish with a strong leap of 14.18 meters. He also earned seventh place in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.96 meters.
● Freshman Maxim Copeland placed 4th in the 200m dash invitational with a time of 21.59. Freshman Doyin Smith clocked in with a time of 21.88 to place 13th.
● Freshman Samuel Skinner placed 13th in the 800m dash, while teammate Rushane Fullerton turned in a time of 1:58.85.
● Junior Dante Jackson placed seventh in the 500m dash with a a time 48.96.
● Junior Jadon Ra-Akbar placed seventh in the 60m hurdles by crossing the tape with a time of 8.35.
● The 4x400 meter relay team of Antonio Sims, Dante Jackson, Maxim Copeland, Doyin Sims earned a commendable fourth-place finish in the event with a time of 3:20.91.
● Freshman Demond Smith finished 26th place in the weight throw with a distance of 14.69 meters and placed 31st in the shot put with a mark of 12.24m.
