Women’s Track Members Compete At World-Famous Penn Relays

BALTIMORE, Md. (April 29, 2024)--Morgan State sent several members of the women's track and field team to Philadelphia, Pa. over the weekend to compete in the annual three-day Penn Relays held at historic Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
 
Freshman Laniyah Henderson placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 39-8.50 (12.10m).
 
Graduate student Johnelle Johnson, competing in the college discus throw championship, would finish 10th with her throw of 149-6 (45.57m).
 
Sophomore Denisha McLaurin had a leap of 16-7.25 (5.06m) to place 23rd in the long jump.
 
Morgan State will now prepare for the upcoming Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field championships (Monday, May 6-Wednesday, May 8) in Norfolk, Va., held at Dick Price Stadium on the campus of Norfolk State University.
