BALTIMORE Md. (April 4, 2024) — Morgan State University is gearing up to host its annual Legacy Track Meet on April 19-20, at the Earl C. Banks Field at Hughes Stadium. This prestigious event brings together some of the top collegiate track and field athletes from across the nation.
Running events will commence at 9:40 a.m., setting the stage for thrilling sprints, distance races, and hurdles. Simultaneously, at 10:00 a.m., field events will ignite the atmosphere, featuring competitions in long jump, triple jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, and javelin..
The upcoming track and field meet will feature athletes representing an impressive 18 colleges and universities. The participating teams include: Bowie State, CCBC, Catonsville, Coppin State, Delaware State, District of Columbia, Essex CC, Hampton, Howard, Maryland Eastern Shore, Monroe College, Montgomery College, New Jersey City, NJI T, St. Peter's, Towson, UMBC, Virginia State and host Morgan State.
Morgan will pay tribute to its graduating seniors during a special ceremony on the field. Scheduled for 3:30 p.m., the event will honor the academic achievements and contributions of these dedicated students as they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives.

Morgan State University Legacy Reunion:
Calling all former and present student athletes of Morgan State University! The Legacy Reunion will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 7:00 pm in the Student Center Ballroom, immediately following the Legacy Meet. This celebratory event will honor the university's Olympians, NCAA All-Americans, and NCAA National Qualifiers. The Legacy Reunion is an opportunity for alumni, current students, and the entire Morgan State community to come together and celebrate the university's rich athletic history. Attendees will have the chance to reconnect with former teammates, coaches, and fellow student athletes, while also recognizing the outstanding achievements of Morgan State's athletic legends.
Facilities:
Newly resurfaced - forty-eight (48) inch 8 lanes of Beynon BSSC 2000 Encapsulated track surface. Complete with a practice field used for warm-ups, located outside the stadium next to the Morgan Parking Garage. Dual direction runways for long jump, triple jump and pole vault are located in the stadium on the outside of the track to allow the best views for spectators and coaches. Dual high jump pit is located on the east end of the infield. Dual shot put circles are located on the west end of the infield and are brushed concrete.
Senior Recognition
The following is the list of the Morgan senior student-athletes that will be competing in their final home meet at Hughes Stadium. The Blue & Orange's graduating class includes Perry Bennett, Malik Brown, Devion Bryant, Tarique Gooden, Davian Gray, Adrian Holley, Derick Robinson, Ishana Asinor, Tia Jackson and Jonnelle Johnson.
