HARRISONBURG, Va. (April 13, 2004)--The Morgan State women's track and field team traveled to James Madison University on Saturday to compete in the JMU Invite on a sunny and windy afternoon at Sentara Park.
The Lady Bears would finish with three top-five marks in a meet which brought together 11 teams from across the region, including George Mason, Hampton, Marshall, Michigan State, UMBC and host James Madison.
Brylan Carter was among the standout performers for Morgan State, as the sophomore placed third in the javelin with a throw of 105-01 (32.03m).
Sticking in the field events, junior
Terine Lambert placed fourth in the discus with her throw of 138-04 (42.15m).
On the track, fellow junior
Jessica Lamborn placed fourth in the 800-meter run, crossing the finish line in a time of 2:20.35.
How It Happened
Track
● In the 1500-meter run, senior
Abigail Fisher finished sixth in a time of 5:06.05. Fisher would also place seventh in the 3000-meter run, crossing the line in a time of 11:28.26.
● Freshman
Victoria Francis ran a time of 57.50 to place ninth in the 400-meter dash.
● Sophomore
Denisha McLaurin came in eight in the 100-meter hurdles with her time of 14.67.
Field
● Freshman Hemetii Apet had a leap of 34-07.00 (10.54m) to place sixth in the triple jump.
● Senior
Ishana Asinor cleared the height of 10-06.00 (3.20m) in the pole vault to finish tied for seventh.
● Sophomore
Asydiah Pray-Brown placed eighth in the high jump with a mark of 5-00.25.
● Freshman
Laniyah Henderson finished ninth in the long jump with her jump of 17-04.75 (5.30m).
● Graduate student
Johnelle Johnson registered a throw of 150-05 (45.84m) to place 10
th in the hammer throw.

Morgan State University Legacy Reunion: Calling all former and present student athletes of Morgan State University! The Legacy Reunion will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 7:00 pm in the Student Center Ballroom, immediately following the Legacy Meet. This celebratory event will honor the university's Olympians, NCAA All-Americans, and NCAA National Qualifiers. The Legacy Reunion is an opportunity for alumni, current students, and the entire Morgan State community to come together and celebrate the university's rich athletic history. Attendees will have the chance to reconnect with former teammates, coaches, and fellow student athletes, while also recognizing the outstanding achievements of Morgan State's athletic legends.
